A small obsidian-black glass disc with a precision-etched dot pattern on top. Drop it into your drink, logo facing up, pour as normal. Bubbles stream off the etching at exactly the right rate. Enough head to look proper, slow enough that your drink doesn't go flat halfway through.

Bubbles need somewhere to start.
Pour a beer into a perfectly smooth glass and the carbonation has nowhere to release. Bubbles cling to the sides, head dies, drink goes flat. That's just physics.
Etched nucleation sites are tiny pits in the glass that give the dissolved CO₂ somewhere to release in a controlled stream. Pubs and breweries have been laser-etching this pattern into pint glasses for years. We just made one you can drop into a CHUUG.
The dot count isn't decorative. Too few and the head won't hold. Too many and the drink degasses too fast and goes flat early. Ours sits in the sweet spot. Engineered until the head lasted from first sip to last.
Obsidian-black. Smooth on the bottom, textured on top. Sits in your pocket like it was made for it.
Volcanic glass. The same material Stone Age blades were made of. Polished smooth on one side, etched with a precision dot pattern on the other. Heavier than it looks. Quieter than it should be. Carry one for a week and you'll find your hand goes to it without thinking.

01 Does it actually work?
Yes. The dot pattern follows the same physics as etched pint glasses used by breweries. Pour with vs. without and you'll see it.
02 Does it work in any drink?
Best in carbonated drinks: beer, cider, sparkling water, prosecco. Won't do much for still drinks (no CO₂ to release).
03 Does it make the drink flat faster?
No. We deliberately tuned the dot density to give you a stable head without dumping all the CO₂ out at once. Head holds from first sip to last.
04 Is it dishwasher-safe?
Yes. Obsidian-black glass, no coating to wear off.
05 Can I carry it in my pocket?
That's the point. Smooth bottom, textured top, sits flat against your leg.
06 Will it scratch the inside of my CHUUG?
No. The glass is softer than the rope handle and softer than the wood seal. Sits flat on the bottom.
07 Does it come with a pouch or case?
No (yet). Carry it in your pocket or in the gift box you already got with your CHUUG.
I wanted a way for a CHUUG to give the head retention of a proper nucleated pint glass. Couldn't etch the inside of a wooden tankard, so we made something you drop in instead. Now it lives in my pocket alongside my keys. Doesn't go anywhere.
